Pre- and Postnatal Fitness Coach

About

Hi! I’m Lauren and I want to be your coach throughout your pregnancy and after childbirth.

I’ve always led an active lifestyle. I swam on my high school and college swim teams and then went on to coaching. Being a swim coach inspired me to learn more about the body; I wanted to coach people in more ways than just in a pool. I became certified through the American Council on Exercise and started working in the fitness center at my local YMCA. I enjoyed teaching my clients different ways for them to safely move their bodies. Unfortunately, life had other plans for me and I ended up moving to Chicago and pursued a career in education.

I was pregnant with my first child, Atlas, in 2020 and really struggled with feeling safe while exercising. I have a background in personal training and fitness and knew there were things I had to be more cautious of now that I was carrying precious cargo. The pandemic hit and I felt like I had nowhere or no one to turn to for guidance in this new phase of life. I did what a lot of us would do: I Google-d it. What I found made enough sense to me and worked at the time.

Fast-forward to 2023. My second child, Luna, is 8-months old and I’ve been working on feeling like myself again. I wanted to start a workout routine, but again was faced with the challenge of not fully knowing what was best and safest for my body. That’s when I took matters into my own hands. I enrolled in the Girls Gone Strong Pre- & Postnatal Coaching Certification. Through my training, I learned how to develop safe exercise programs for all pregnancy stages, including the fourth trimester. I also learned about simple nutrition and what our bodies need at different points in our pregnancies. I learned that one of the *best* things you can do throughout your pregnancy and beyond is breathing with intention – the Connection Breath.

Now, I’m on a mission to show women just how strong they really are.  As moms, we’re required to do a lot and spend a good amount of time with a child in our arms while also performing other tasks. Strength training just makes sense. I want to help you feel your best, strongest self during your pregnancy and postpartum.
